FLOWER PHOTOGRAPHY
As a teen, using my first film camera, I loved capturing the delicate beauty of roses. In the Pacific Northwest, where winter’s stark landscapes linger, spring arrives like a revelation, bursting forth in a symphony of blossoming flowers. First come the crocuses, then tulips, cherry blossoms, and irises, each announcing their beauty as they arrive. You’ll often find me lying on sidewalks with my lens inside a tulip or perched in a tree with my macro lens capturing the way light dances through the soft pink petals. Through my photography, I aim to do more than just showcase colors and textures, I like to tell the story of each flower’s journey, from bud to bloom to the delicate fading of its petals. I see myself in flowers, their delicate yet strong unfolding is an inspiration.
